When we talk about moneymakers, we imagine cash in the pocket or directly in our bank accounts right away. In reality, there are several ways you can start making money online today. Cut On What You Spend

One of the most underrated ways of making money almost immediately is to cut on what you spend money on. No, I’m not thinking that you spend on a coffee every day, but it is still worth reviewing in detail where your money is going. Check what you have coming out of your bank account regularly and cancel anything that is not indispensable and any direct debits that are no longer in use. Use an app that tracks spending or a pre-payed card that you can top up with money every month and use that instead of cash for your small expenses.

Get A Cashback Deal – Easy Online Moneymakers

Make sure that, if you have a card, debit or credit, that your card gives you cashback. MoneySavingsExpert is an amazing site to look for best deals and reviews from actual users. Look for cashback credit cards. Do your research and only use credit cards if you can pay the balance in full each month or if they have a 0% interest for a period of time. Utility Warehouse has a great card that gives you money back when you shop, that money comes out of your utility bill each month, check them out in the link above and you can save money on your utilities too!

Also, sign up for cashback sites and use them when you shop online. I love TopCashback and use them every time I shop online. Before you buy anything online check them, you might be able to get cashback by shopping via their sites. Sign up with TopCashback and start getting cashback today.

Don’t Pay Interest On Credit Cards

If you are paying interest on any cards or small loans, transfer then to an interest-free credit card and then pay the balance within the promotional time, this will save you the interest charges every month. We are all lazy to look at our finances but once it’s done you will feel so much better!

Swap Current Accounts

Most banks will pay you to swap your account and bank with them, so why not take this offer? Have a look at the offers available here and you can also check customer service scores, so you know you will get a good service. Are you worried swapping will impact your direct debits or credit score? That is no longer the case, banks have direct debit transfer agreements, they will do all the hard work for you and, in most cases, you just get an email once all is done. Banks will pay you up to £175.00 to swap, take the opportunity and make the move.

Create An eBook

If you have skills, you are likely to be able to sell them! There is no better way than creating an ebook and selling it online. Publishing is one of the great ways to create passive income. You spend time creating it, you promote and is out there, making money for you.

Think about the main skills you have, what are you good at and enjoy doing the most?

Make a list of all your interests, then come up with ideas of what you could have an ebook about.

Be creative and do some research.

How To Go About Doing It?

Let’s say that you were in several different Facebook groups.

  • Knitting or crochet
  • Reading club
  • German Shepperd Owners

Start by excluding anything you don’t want to talk about if you feel strongly about it. If not, make notes on different options for each group.

Knitting or crochet – this could be: how to make doll dresses; crochet tea towel stunning edging patterns.

Reading club – look for things that not everybody is offering but have a broad appeal: how to create an online reading club; keeping everybody happy in a virtual reading club; how to monetize an online reading club.

German Shepperd Owners – Monitor the group conversations and make notes of the discussions that happen most often. Interact with the people in your group and look for what they struggle with, then get ideas on how you can help them. You don’t need to be an expert to share what works for you. For example, Three dog-walking routines that worked for me and my German Sheperd or How I got my German Sheperd to socialise with other dogs.

Do a little research and ask your groups what they would like to know more about and as I said above, monitor threads on your social media groups or tribes so you know what comes up most often.

How To Publish And Market Your eBook.

When it comes to publishing any type of ebooks, Sqribble is a great tool. This software is specifically designed for publishing and comes with so many features. It already includes a commercial agency license to use Sqribble for client work, offering eBook creation services, with the ability to create unlimited eBooks which you can sell and keep all the profits.

Recycling Is A Great Moneymaker

Declutter your wardrobe and sell the clothes online.

If you have read my organization and Spring Cleaning preparation post, you know that I’m big on getting rid of stuff! At any given time, I have about 8 rubish bags full of things to sell or give to charity.

I also buy quite a lot on the markets around me and then sell for profit, I’ll tell you how below!

So how does it work? First, you need to clean your cupboards and group similar items, for example, boys clothes; girls clothes, picture frames, mugs and glass, boys shoes, girls shoes and so on. Do it one room at the time or even one cupboard at the time. I have a good guide on decluttering here.

When you have completed your first room, check the items you have and group them by type and clothes by gender and age.

You should sell branded clothes one peace in each add and the remaining clothes in bundles of 4 or 5 items. First create an account on the site where you chose to sell, see below a list for the best sites. I only tend to sell on eBay because it works via PayPal, this is very secure and pain-free, plus avoids you sharing bank account details.

Once you have your account, log into the site and look for similar items to the ones you are trying to sell and check the price they are starting on and what is being charged for delivery, this will give you a good idea on where to start your auction. On eBay, if you find an item that is a close match to what you have to sell, open that item and scroll down until you find an option to “sell one like this”, click on it, add your pictures, adjust the description, the sending options and charges and you are good to go! It’s that easy.

Best Online Sites To Sell Used Items

  • eBay – On eBay, you can sell anything you want from any brand, you can even sell your very worn shoes! It’s brilliant for toys bundles and kids items.
  • Vinted – I have used it a few times and I guess it is just a matter of preference, you should try it, with 25M users you are sure to find a buyer for all your used clothes.
  • Shpock – This site works in a similar way to eBay, you can sell almost anything and can post. I like the fact that there is a virtual wallet, this makes money transactions safer.

These are my top three sites for selling all your unwanted items and getting that cash coming in.

Give Your Opinion & Make Money

Complete surveys online and see your savings grow.

If you look online for ways to make money, you will literally get thousands of different ways and all promising good returns. So where to start? As with selling clothes online, I’m going to list the ways I find are the best, some I have tried, others the feedback is very positive.

Best Online Survey sites

  • SWAGBUCKS.COM – Why I love Swagbucks? What can I say, I can spend a couple of hours completing tasks on the site and looking at my account seeing it grow! There are so many options… you can join survey panels to complete surveys, you can just take a survey once you register but there are other options, like signing up free to receive information on products or download and app to manage your money. Avery action on the site has a reward. Then you can swap your rewards for Amazon vouchers or Starbucks, there are so many options! To sign up, just click on the link above or the banner below.
  • OhMyDosh! – This is a great way to make money in the UK! You give a little of your time, select the projects you want to take part in and then collect the rewards. It’s very easy to sign up to and you can answer surveys or complete other tasks, then points will be translated into cash in your account.
  • Focus Groups – A fun way to make money. They take a little more dedication as in most cases it involves you going somewhere and discuss your ideas about something within a group. This could be a product you have used and they want to discuss usage and your experience or just talk about new products or propositions. There are also online group discussions you can take part. Best sites to sign up or learn more: Focus Groups UK, Take Part in Research, Vocal Views.
  • Mystery Shopping – Like with Focus Groups, Mystery Shopping involves buying a service or product and evaluating the experience in accordance with the expectations set by the service/product provider. They will not know that you will be evaluating this service/product. Ipsos MORI is the world leader in the field but there are other smaller players specialising in different sectors, have a look at these two: Secret Shopping, Amber Arch.

Rent Out What You Don’t Use

rent-your-driveway-moneymaker
Renting out your driveway can get you a great extra income.

This one is an easy moneymaker! Depending on what you can/want to rent out, it can earn you big bucks too. So what can you rent out? Lots of things! Skiing Clothes, for example, branded bags and accessories, a parking space in your driveway or a bedroom, if you have one spare.

Have a look around your house and think about what you could rent that would give you the best return, do a little digging on what others are charging and where they are posting it.

Check out these sites for more inspiration: Fat Llama, Gumtree.

Become A Reseller

become-a-reseller-moneymaker
Why not selling other people’s clothes online?

Ask your friends if they need help sorting out their storage. Offer to sell their items online for a percentage of earnings. Many of my friends have a full-scale side hustle selling items or clothes online. After a while, you will get a good insight into what sells best and at what price. For example, Disney Princess soft dolls go like gold, so look for those in local markets, you can find them at £2 each and sell them from £5 to £11. Did you know that ladies shoes have a huge following on eBay? Yes! and the smellier the better!

Start A Blog!

Starting a blog should be a long term project rather than an easy moneymaker. It requires commitment and a great willingness to learn new things but I can’t tell you how rewarding it is! Even if you don’t make any money in the first year or so, do it for the enjoyment of sharing your views with others. For the enjoyment of meeting new people online and learning from them.

I have been blogging for half a year now and I can tell you that I wouldn’t be able to survive on blogging alone. Still, I have learned more in the past six months then I did in the last two years working in my previous role!

There are great guides online and plenty of advice for starting your own blog. If you have questions, you can always email me directly at hello@lovelifelivewise.com

Be bold and try different things. Have you tried any of the ideas on this list? How did they work for you?

Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments below. We can swap ideas and help more people earn more online.

Until next time, enjoy the simple pleasures!

I love cashback cards, even my standard bankcard gives me cashback.
It’s a small satisfaction when I look at the statement each month and see how much I made in cashback:-)
